The Bintou & Issa collection invites children to explore illustrated stories that sensitively address important topics such as the history of slavery, memory, and cultural heritage. Readers follow the twins Bintou and Issa, along with their family and friends, on adventures filled with discovery, friendship, and the passing on of knowledge.
Developed as part of UNESCO’s “The Route of Slavery” project, this series is designed for young readers aged 5 to 9. Accessible, educational, and entertaining, it helps children understand the past while raising awareness of its relevance in today’s world.
By choosing Bintou & Issa books from the official UNESCO Boutique, you support the promotion of universal values such as respect, diversity, and solidarity.
